Ghuughra Behold an appalling slab of trash metal from an alternate reality year 1997, dredged into the modern era by uncaring hate-tulpas. This is the album Incantation would've released after The Forsaken Mourning of Angelic Anguish if they were actually seeking to achieve Unholy Deification.

The drums are frantic, yet loose. The riffs; vile. Vocals; dry in the best way possible and reverbed all the way to shit. Lyrics are minimalist yet upsetting. I literally cannot recommend this album hard enough. Favorite track: Thou Butcherer Of Human Folly.

Dark Avenger This is NOT just another Incantation clone. Extremely raw and filthy production with frantic, almost punk-like drumming at times, with obscure lyrics and song titles you won't understand without a dictionary. This album is absolutely disgusting and extremely unfriendly - highly recommended!

Metal Matty Clicked for the artwork - stayed for the flawlessly executed old school brutal death. Definitely one of the grimier releases this year. An intensely uncomfortable listening experience - in the best possible way. Favorite track: Concupiscence Of Frenzied Humors.

Occulsed was formed in Atlanta/Georgia in 2017 to spew filthy, wretched, and disgusting Death Metal. Taking cues from the stalwart Tampa scene as well as the early underground Scandinavian death metal gods, Occulsed employs chaotic riffing, eerie melody, and inhuman vocals to craft haunting and bone-crushing death metal.
With a pedigree of members spanning numerous bands, the three members of Occulsed have a 20+ year history of death and black metal under their belts. The culmination of songwriting results in a harrowing listening experience.
With the demos “Cenotaph to Putridity” and “Ceremonial Lifelessness” garnering rave reviews they have cemented themselves as a death metal force not to missed. Their debut “Crepitation of Phlegethon” is poised to be one of most abominable and riff-laden death metal records of 2021.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight).
